Membership is open and non-auditioned.
We welcome all singers 13 years of age and above. All-call EventsOur All-Call Events are held at the end of January and July, and are intended to kick off each semester of rehearsals. They are a fun, informal way to hear more about us, what we do, and how we do it. The events include light refreshments, ice breaker activities, the possibility of some (light) sight-singing, and of course ALL the preliminary information information about each semester, including the musical theme and concert benefactor.
Follow us on Facebook to find out the date for our next all-call. Rehearsals and attendanceVOICE rehearsals are weekly on Sundays, from 5:30 to 8pm. We do not rehearse on the weekends of major holidays (i.e. Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day). The exception is the Sunday following Thanksgiving.
In order for us to provide the highest-quality entertainment possible, rehearsal attendance is expected. However, we know life can get in the way. Members are expected to attend at least 75% of rehearsals in order to participate in concerts. semesters and concertsPerformance seasons follow the calendar year, but are divided into semesters: February to June and August to December. We take a break late December-January, and late June-July.
We hold our Summer concert in mid-June, and our Christmas concert in mid-December. Each concert takes place over a single weekend, with one performance Saturday evening, and a second performance Sunday afternoon. Our concerts are themed, memorized, and (lightly) choreographed and staged. Our music spans genres and themes such as Broadway, Disney, Country, and 'Glee', as well as other chart toppers. Musical experience in the organization ranges from novice to seasoned singers, and music is performed in coed harmonies, ranging from 3-8 parts. Concerts are performed with a minimum 3-piece combo band, that includes keys, guitar/bass, and drums. |
